Help & getting started

Install and use BulkDownloader

Check your extension version and the Instagram page you have open, then choose what to download to your computer.

Install in Chrome

The Chrome Web Store link is not available yet. The project currently provides a test build for manual installation. Open Chrome’s extensions page, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the build directory for the corresponding environment. After an update, manually reload the extension and refresh Instagram.

Only get test packages from trusted project channels. Do not install extensions from unknown sources. A test build does not mean the extension has been released on the Chrome Web Store or that external services are available.

Start a download to your computer

  1. Sign in to Instagram in Chrome and open the Posts or Reels tab on the profile you want to download from.
  2. Open the extension’s download panel and check your Instagram session and the page you have open. Choose All, Range, manual selection or an available date option, then check the quality and computer output mode.
  3. Start the download, then keep the source page open and wait for the actual results. Closing the popup does not cancel the task.
  4. Review the task results for successful, failed or unconfirmed files. After a network error, check the original task before trying again so you do not repeat an unconfirmed download.

Your Instagram session and product account

Your Instagram session provides access to media you can view on the current page. A BulkDownloader product account is separate and is used for product entitlements and purchases. Neither identity replaces the other, and Google Drive connections require separate authorization.

Free downloads to your computer do not require a product account. If your Instagram session cannot be identified, sign in to Instagram again first.

Why a feature may be unavailable

If a service address, authentication provider, product or payment channel has not been configured, the page shows that it is unavailable. Seeing a quote does not mean payments are open, and a success parameter in a URL does not activate membership. A payment confirmation timeout means the result is pending verification; it does not mean you have been charged or that payment has failed.

For support, contact support@getbulkdownloader.com. Include the app environment, extension version, steps to reproduce the issue and an error status with private information removed. Do not send product access tokens, refresh tokens, Instagram passwords, cookies or full payment details.
